Slow Cooker Dump & Go Honey Garlic Chicken (With Weight Watcher Points)

I’ve been anxiously waiting on spring to really get here for what seems like forever.  Now that it is finally warm out, our days are spent doing anything we can outside.  Seriously, does it get better than that?  Some days though, I have definitely caught myself heading back home from the park and it’s late.  Yay for the days being longer right?  Not so much when you realize it’s too late to make dinner and have to run through the drive-thru.

For a lot of people, they say their favorite time of the year to use their slow cooker is during the winter.  They make creamy soups, hearty stews and yummy comfort food.  While I love ALL of that, I have to say that for me, my favorite time of the year to use my slow cooker is when it’s nice out.  I don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen!  I want to be outside!  And when it gets really hot out, the last thing I ever want to do is turn the oven on.

This dump and go slow cooker honey garlic chicken recipe was our dinner last night.  It took me probably five minutes to put together.  When we were ready to eat, I just made some rice and steamed a bag of veggies and we were ready to go!  The kids loved it, clean up was super easy and it’s a good-for-you dinner.  You can’t do much more winning than that!

Tip: If you want even easier cleanup try slow cooker liners!  (I was out last night so you better believe I ordered more!  I’m slightly obsessed!)

  1. Use a slow cooker liner to line your pan (optional but makes cleanup crazy simple!)
  2. Trim any fat off your chicken and place into your slow cooker.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, oregano and sesame seeds.

  4. Pour over the chicken.

  5. Make sure that the chicken is fully coated. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 3.5-4 hours. Chicken is done when it reaches a temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. Serve over rice with veggies.
